Registration: 7:00 am @ Hogwaller Plaza on Church Street in Downtown Lenoir.
Ride Starts: 8:30 am @ The Corner of Main and Harper In Downtown Lenoir.
This is a very safe ride, but it is an open course and riders are encouraged to obey all traffic laws. Lenoir City Police will close all intersections as riders make their way out of the downtown area. Upon returning, the City Police will monitor riders as they travel back downtown. Caldwell County Sheriff's Deputies will monitor the crossing of Hwy 321 north of Lenoir.
Returning this year are our friendly State Troopers on motorcycles who will lead out the ride and serve as escort to those who choose the 62 mile course.
Eighteen Rotarians will serve as on course marshals at various turns throughout the courses to give directions and be available for any communication needs. There will also be three sag vehicles that will each patrol a twenty mile section of the course as long as riders are on it. These vehicles will be equipped with radios that will allow them to contact emergency first responders from any point on the course, regardless of whether there is cell phone service available. They will also be able to offer some mechanical support. Finally, there will be three aid stations to supply riders with snacks, fluids, and other necessary support.
This year, the event will be timed using chips - the most accurate and efficient means. The Finish Line is on Main Street. Please take a moment to pedal up there before starting so that you can know exactly where it is. You will see a banner strung across Main St. directly above the finish line. There will be a clock clearly visible about 20’ beyond the Finish Line just off the street for you to see your time. After crossing the line, slow down, and take a right turn onto Ashe Ave. and into a chute past the Officials Tent where we can get your bib number and collect your chip. Please help us out by remembering to turn in your chip.
For those hoping to win their ride, count on your choice of a homemade cake! Cakes will go to the top three places in the 62 mile, top two place in the 40 mile and 1st place in the 25 mile ride.
